Award of Share Options
The Company announces that on Monday 18 December the Board of Directors approved
the following share option award over ordinary shares of 1p each ('Ordinary
Shares') in the Company for nil consideration under the Afren plc Share Option
Scheme:

The exercise price for the new award is 50p and the options are exercisable from
the date of award for seven years.
Dr Lukman also is the beneficial owner of 7,437,500 Ordinary Shares representing
3.88% of the issued share capital of the Company.
